Avonbank Inc. is a leading agricultural dealership specializing in robotic milking systems, dairy barn design, farm automation, and ongoing dairy herd support. We work with progressive dairy producers across Southwestern Ontario to implement and optimize Lely automatic milking and feeding systems. We are currently seeking a motivated Lely Farm Management Support (FMS) Advisor to support dairy farmers using robotic milking technology. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to work directly with dairy producers, analyze farm performance data, and help improve herd health, milk production, and robot efficiency.
Position Overview
The Lely Farm Management Support (FMS) Advisor provides on-farm consulting and technical support to dairy producers operating robotic milking systems and automated feeding systems.
In This Position You Will:
- Support farms transitioning to robotic milking
- Monitor herd performance and robot data
- Provide coaching and performance improvement recommendations
- Assist with Lely software and system optimization
- Build long-term working relationships with customers
This is a field-based advisory role that combines dairy herd management, agricultural technology, data analysis, and customer support. Travel throughout Southwestern Ontario is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide dairy farmers through the transition to automatic milking and feeding systems
- Analyze milk production data, reproduction metrics, robot utilization, and herd performance
- Provide practical recommendations to improve cow health, milk quality, labour efficiency, and system performance
- Train farmers on Lely software platforms
- Provide basic IT support including workstation setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Conduct regular on-farm visits and follow-ups
- Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and industry partners
- Support internal sales and service teams during new installations
- Maintain accurate documentation and performance reporting
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agri-Business, or a related field preferred
- Relevant dairy or agricultural experience will also be considered
- Knowledge of dairy herd management (feeding, reproduction, milk quality, cow health)
- Interest in agricultural technology and robotics
- Comfortable working with farm data and performance metrics
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and internet-based software tools
- Self-motivated and organized
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario
- Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional evenings or weekends, as required, to support scheduled customer appointments, company events, or robotic system commissioning.
